4 things I learned at Soul Cycle
I’ve been meaning to try out Soul Cycle for some time now. So when one of my wonderful, brilliant and beautiful coworker gave me a free pass, I just about cried for joy. I cycled before, but I’ve heard such great things about Soul Cycle, I had to give it a shot myself.
Here are 4 things I took away from the class:
1. Bring water and allow time to shower. You’ll need it. I was dripping at the end of class. They have a great locker room with everything you need except a change of clothes.
2. Get into the music. We all know that I am rhythm impaired, so when they didn’t have a speedometer on their bikes, I got a little worried. But because they didn’t have a speedometer, I had to focus on the music and not my RPMs on a screen. The few times I actually fell into the beat, made my ride so much better!
3. Ear plugs optional. The music was pretty loud. (Am I getting old, already?!) I left the studio feeling as if I had just left a concert. If you’re sensitive to loud music, or go more than once or twice a week, you should probably grab some before heading in. Your ears will thank you.
4. You are stronger than you think you are. Don’t give yourself any time to think if you can do it or not. You can. Plain and simple. I know that is a reoccurring theme in my posts, but it’s so important and worth repeating.
Has anyone else tried out Soul Cycle? How did you like it?
